What is WhatsApp agentic support?

A support model in which an AI agent uses WhatsApp, customer memory, diagnostic tools, knowledge, service workflows, and outcome feedback to investigate and resolve issues through multiple controlled steps.

Why is this important?

Agentic support goes beyond generating an answer. It can inspect real state, perform safe actions, verify whether the issue is fixed, update the case, and decide when human expertise or authorization is required.

How it works

The agent identifies the customer and issue, forms a plan, retrieves evidence, calls diagnostic or account tools, explains and performs allowed steps, checks the result, and loops until resolution, escalation, or a stopping condition.

Technical example

A customer's automation stopped. The agent examines recent runs, finds an expired connection, requests authorization, reconnects the account, runs a test, confirms recovery, documents the fix, and closes the case.

Implementation notes

Set tool permissions, diagnostic boundaries, approval for state changes, maximum attempts, rollback, incident routing, security verification, completion evidence, case-state consistency, and human escalation based on severity and confidence.
